Slingbox or Netflix??

i was thinking about getting slingbox to use with my EVO but then i saw the price.i've heard that netflix was coming to android and thought that it might be better to just wait for it since im already a member.what do you guys this? is slingbox worth the money or should i just wait for the netflix app?

I would definitely get a slingbox. Slingbox will allow you to watch your tv on your phone whereas the "future" Netflix app will only allow you to watch movies. Also, there are no additional costs with slingbox once you get everything set up. Mine works great. I can watch all of my favorite sports teams live ANYWHERE!

anything you can watch at home, you can watch on your phone with the slingbox app (bear in mind that, in most cases, what you watch on your phone will also be what someone at home needs to watch on the tv the box is hooked up to).

the netflix app, if/when it's released, will only provide those 2nd rate, craptastic movies that are already available for streaming now. hooray! (i'll get it, but slingbox wins this duel).

the other question would be do you have cable? For someone like me, I no longer pay for cable, I watch everything on Netflix or Hulu. So a Slingbox would be pretty pointless. I'll just wait for their apps.

MST3k is on Netflix instant streaming. It is decidedly NOT craptastic.

Also, I wouldn't ever use a slingbox, as my home internet connection doesn't have nearly enough upload speed to make it worthwhile. (.5mbps upload, which is common for many people) That's one of the major problems people forget about slingbox. It relies on your home internet connection, and most home internet connections do not have the necessary UPLOAD speed.

Also Netflix has plenty of tv shows that are available for streaming. And not just old craptastic movies. Have some of you even been to their webpage?

I have a slingbox (solo?) and have used the mobile app on 2 wimno phones and now my SGS. It's plugged directly into my wireless router. It's great for catching up with recorded programs. Plus if we're away and want to set something to record at home - like F1 racing - no problem. I also can watch the PVR on my laptop while others are watching movies. The app is very good and was one of the first things I loaded onto my device.

edit - I am not in the US so I don't have access to hulu or any of the other services mentioned.
