So I was going install a new firmware to my tab. Samsung Galaxy tab 3, It is rooted (plz don't forget that) I have a question thought. Does Installing is new firmware update AKA CUSTOM OS factory reset. yes or no

Thanks.Question

I'm guessing you have a custom recovery installed? Generally yes, a developer will always recommend a factory reset when installing their ROM.

If you're rooted, there are a few options to minimise the impact of this though.

I'm Installing the Same firmware due to Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Black screen giltch. Know my battery work. I can access the Custom rom process(https://www.blogyourearth.com/wp-co...Galaxy-S2-Warning-Custom-rom-installation.jpg)

Is that the only screen you can get to? That's download mode, nothing to do with a Custom ROM (the warning's just there to deter you from doing anything). Whilst you can flash a custom recovery from there, it's also where you need to be if you want to reflash the firmware on your phone/tab manually (so if that's what you want to do, you're in the right place to do it).

I take it you have Odin etc, installed on your PC?

Yes, that will factory reset though flashing the firmware manually completely wipes everything on the phone and starts from scratch. If you've linked the tab to your Samsung account, it's cloud save is actually pretty good at backing up System Settings etc. It no longer does 3rd Party app data though - http://www.androidpolice.com/2018/0...-app-backups-user-data-deleted-february-2018/

Also, reflashing means you'll need to root again.
