Help Slow 3G Speeds

Sorry if this has been posted somewhere, but I couldn't find it in a search. I have noticed that the 3G speeds have been severely throttled on my Razr. 4G speeds are fine, but the 3G speeds aren't even above 1Mbps down, usually hover around .7 to .8 Mbps. The up is about .5 Mbps.

Has anyone else noticed this?

PS. I had my brother do a speed test right next to me with his Incredible and got 3-4 Mbps down on the same 3G connection.

How much data are you using? If you use alot, then you're probably being throttled.

I don't think that's it. I usually only use about 0.5gb. Plus, 4G is not throttled.

I concur with this man's statement. My 4g signal and speed is outstanding, but when I go into a 3g area it just flat out blows. Weird..

I have noticed that since 4G rolled out to near where I live, 3G is slower. No question. I was able to stream Netflix no problem, and HQ Youtube, but Netflix tends to have less quality and Youtube more cache build stops.

Not an issue in my hometown area where we do not have 4G. Only areas that also have 4G. I have noticed this when in other cities, since would try to conserve power by going to 3G only.

My 3G speeds have generally been below 1 Mbs for years. Got fed up with it, and got the Razr. Night and day difference. Even in my house where I normally only get about 2 bars, 4G is still over 5 Mbs. Had the iPhone 4, which I did like, but slow speeds and poor connection at times in my house forced me to sell it. Got more for it than what I paid for it under contract, so that help ease the cost of the Razr. I do like the app Foxfi, but wonder how long before verizon closes that hole.
