Help Slow and unusual charging and battery behaviour

Hi guys,

So I've had my Nexus 10 pretty much since the day it came out. Battery has always been amazing and I've just absolutely loved the device.

But recently I've noticed that the battery doesn't last as long and if I put it to charge at around 10pm, its still only charged at ~93% at 9am the next morning. It has never done that before and usually only takes around 6 or 7 hours to fully charge.

I also used to be able to plug it in on charge at 0% and use the tablet with no problem at all. Now if its charged at 100% and I use it while its charged, it goes down to 95% - that's definitely not right!

Anyone have ideas how to fix this or any solutions? I lovee my nexus 10 and can't stand to see it ill!

Still using the supplied charger? Sounds like it's not getting enough juice while on charge to me.

Yeah still using the supplied charger. Very strange as it has been working perfectly for the past year or so. Seems as if it has literally happened over night :-(

You might have a close look at the tablet's and the cable's microUSB port for dirt, fluff or bend pins ... and you'd try another cable.
For rapid charging the tablet has to "see" the charger's data pins because these are modified (internal jumpered).

Same problem (but nexus 7). I use 7 different cables, in 7 rooms, and they all worked fine until suddenly. Now I charges about 5% per hour. Big change! I doubt all 7 cables went suddenly bad, so it must the the nexus or nexus software. I don't have any idea what a "bent pin" would like like inside the nexus.

On the Nexus' microUSB port the pins (contacts) right and left in the socket are power, the three in the center are data+, data- and ID (you'd also google for the pinout of a microUSB socket ).

So you might look on the Nexus' microUSB socket if one of these data pins (contakts) looks different, like dirty, corroded, fluffed ... or bent, in a way of deformed, unable to couple with its associated pin (contact) on the cable's microUSB plug.

There are no miracles in the world and Li-ion batteries loose the capacity over time.

The capacity of Li-ion battery after 100 charge/discharge cycles could be 80% of the original. My regular Nexus-10 discharge current vary between 1600-2000mA, which makes not possible even 8 hours work. You should charge 1-2 times per day and 20% of capacity could be lost in 50-100 days.
