Slow Gmail

Anyone else experience slow Gmail the last couple of days? New messages seem to take hours before they show up on my Eris and this started sometime this week. I've always had the "use https" box checked on my Gmail account. New message show up right away if I log into Gmail on a computer. I checked my Google synch settings on my Eris and all of the boxes are checked.

This morning when trying to do a manual sync, I get the following message:

"! Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly."

Same problem here on HTC Hero, Vodafone, NL. Doesn't seem to have anything to do with provider though.

It sometimes takes up to 45 minutes before emails appear on the phone. Yet, I got a Gtalk client running on my laptop and that one does notify me instantly, so the actualy push thingy does work somewhat. It's very annoying, as I configured a different mail sound and when I'm working on the pc and I hear that sound coming out of my pocket, I usually go check mail and after 3 or 4 seconds it appears in Gmail itself, on the web.
