Note: Review is based on game version 1.6. Played on sprint htc hero.
When the slugs try to take over the world, you are there to defend it. But be careful, because if the slugs get you, you'll turn into one.
Game Play:
The objective of the game is to go through the 40 levels that are currently available on version 1.6. The only way for you to move around is tilt your phone left or right to move your player. You tap the screen to shoot out a pellet that can damage a slug, only a green slug will die after it is damaged. Only a moving pellet can damage a slug, a standing pellet will not. The number of pellets that are available is depend on the level that you are in. After a pellet is shot out, to get it back, you just need to slide over and touch it. On every level, your object is to kill all the slugs that are on the level.
You have 10 lives at the beginning of each level, touching a slug will take 3 lives away from you. But it will also damage the slug as well. Once a slug died, it turns into a white eyeball. Touching that eyeball will give you one live back. Also be careful on the level where there is a pink version of you on the screen with you as well. This is the lady you have to protect. If a slug touches her, you lose as well.
The above picture show you, the player, and the slugs that are on the game. Each time a slug is damaged, it turns into two of the slugs to the right of that slug. Only the green slug dies after it is damaged.
The above are the "eyeballs" that become from a dead green slug. The white eyeball gives you one live, but you can only have up to a maximum of 10 lives. After that, touching a white eyeball does nothing. Below is a description of the other color eyeballs:
Yellow - this is a bomb. Once your player touches it, it is locked with the bomb. Once you tap on the screen, the bomb will explode. It will destroy everything on the screen beside you. So be careful with the pellets that you have shot out, these will get destroyed as well.
Green - I hate the green eyeball. Once you touch it, it reverses your direction. So when you tilt your phone left, it goes right. And it also goes the other way around.
Red - It turns you into a monster. Any slugs you touch, it will get damaged without doing any harm to you. It is just that you don't get much points from killing it that way.
Grey - It turns you into a stone. You just sit there, can't move anymore. But anything that touches you will be damaged, and doesn't harm you.
Purple - I haven't figured out what this does yet.
The Options
So what options do you have? You can turn the music and or sound off. You can choose the difficulty level, easy, normal, or Ninja. You can also choose to play the survive mode instead of the challenges(level) mode. The survive mode, you have to kill 10,000 slugs. You can also reset the score if you want.
What's Bad?
There are a couple of things that I don't like about this game. First is that it is too slow. The pellets shoot out and move really, really, really slow. The slugs are really, really, really slow as well. So sometimes it takes forever to finish. The second part is that the game is not very "Android." Wonder if this developer came from the "iDon't" community. It doesn't minimize or pause when you hit the home screen or some application pops up. So while you are in the middle of a level, you need to go do something else and hit the home screen to go to it, you have to start the level all over again. Or sometimes some application crashes and it wants you to wait or force close that application, this level will reset too (hate this the most).
Overall
Overall, this is a pretty fun game. It can be addicting at times. The only down side is the slowness and the "non-multitask" functionality.
