Is there any chance it will spread due to continuous stress when using for fingerprint reading? I doubt that.Crack's, even in gorilla glass do not bode well for the future. Chips on the other hand, not so bad. Couldn't tell from your picture.
Should be a manufacturing defect that I didn't notice out of the box. No way this could happen without dropping the phone or any other strong impact which I'm sure I haven't done. Anyway since the exchange period is over there is no use of crying over spilt milk.Crack's, even in gorilla glass do not bode well for the future. Chips on the other hand, not so bad. OK. Going to give it a tryI would definitely try and the customer is always right![]()

ifixit posted a nice tear-down of a S7. Even if you were experienced at gutting phones Samsung didn't make this model easy to dig into. But I'm not good in repairing stuffs.

Try. Failing that get one of the tempered glass protectors. They will provide you better protection.

I imagine if Samsung found it as a defect in manufacturing, then they would replace it. Looking at that picture, I don't know how they would think that that could have been caused by the user unless they think you were for some reason picking on the button with a screwdriver or something. It's certainly not old enough for wear and tear. I hope they replace that for you. Maybe they'll give you a new one since they probably don't have refurbished units yet.
I'm in a confusion whether to go and get it repaired by Samsung or not. Because once when I approached Samsung's approved service centre (@ 2014) when my Galaxy S3 had a minor hardware issue (for the reason I quoted in one of my post) after replacement period. A person I closely know there (one of the repair guys) advised not to better give it for repair for this silly issue to any Samsung service centers and to better cover it with a case/cover since they were kind of bad at repairing and that they might mess up something else. So I'm kind of in a confusion in the case of my GS7's home button issue. What do you guys say?ifixit posted a nice tear-down of a S7.
