Smart Alert + Screen automatically turns on

Hi all,

So with my previous S4, when I picked up my phone it would vibrate via Smart Alert but the screen would turn on in conjunction to show me missed texts. For my S5, the phone vibrates, but the screen doesn't turn on? What is it like for you guys?

The S5 is my first Galaxy phone, the Smart Alert operates just as you mentioned, when you pick up the phone it vibrates, the screen stays off. My guess is maybe something the carrier changed as far as options? I know Smart Scroll is missing on the Verizon S5's.

Hmm yeah I know that for Verizon new text messages automatically turn on the screen, wonder if those two are related?

I have the Dynamic Notification & LightFlow apps and use those two to vibrate and turn on my screen every minute until I check the new message(s).

But natively your S5 doesn't light up with Smart Alert? I might look into that, it was quite a useful feature
