You'll probably need to set your APN Settings if you haven't already done so. Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> More -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names
They will be specific to the network you are on so you'll either need to check their site, or give them a call to find out what they are.

Said GSM, I believe Smartfren is a CDMA/EV-DO network in Indonesia, which means a GSM device won't work. What phone have you got, make and model?
