Smartphone noob - traveling to Canada question

Hey all,

This is my first smartphone and I've heard different things about travel etc. We'll be traveling to Toronto in a couple of weeks and I want to make sure I turn off all the correct things on the phone so as not to rack up a bunch of unwanted charges.

Any hints ?

Thanks, Dan

Disable Mobile Network Data. If you go on roaming and your phone starts accessing data, your bill is going to go through the roof. For calls and texts though, you should be fine, as long as you realize that everytime you answer or place a call, or send a text message, you will get charged. But not as steeply as data would.

what carrier are you with?

because depending on that, not only with int. data charges apply, but as well as calling and texting.
