I am currently on the $15 a month unlimited texting prepaid plan from TMO w/o data service. I have a semi smartphone (Nokia Nuron 5230) that doesn't have wifi which is all I want. I have wifi everywhere I go, so I do not really need a data plan.
If I bought a TMO smartphone on ebay, would I be able to get into it without a data plan and just use it for calling, texting, and wifi (internet surfing)? Do I have to buy an unlocked?
I hear that the mytouch3g doesn't allow people w/o data service to even enter the phone, so are all the smartphones that way? I don't know anyone who has tmobile and has a sim with data plan.
