Smartwatch that could pass for a dress watch?

As per the subject: I'm looking for a smartwatch which could almost pass for a dress watch, or which at least wouldn't look too out of place when worn with a suit.
I have narrowed it down to the Huawei watch 1 or the Asus Zenwatch 3 but am open to alternatives.

Any thoughts / comments / recommendations?

The Huawei is slightly thicker, but the diameter is smaller (more like a dress watch); the Zenwatch has those inconvenient proprietary straps, the 3 butons which are practical but ugly, and the brownish bezel I'm no fan of. Unfortunately I haven;t found either in stores so I'd have to order online.

I saw the Fossil in a store; definitely not smart. The least ugly is the one with the steel bracelet, but I'd prefer a leather bracelet.

The Huawei watch 2 is bigger and uglier.

The Samsung Gear S3 classic is not bad, but is thicker, and, since it's not Android Wear, it's not clear to me how notifications would work with some apps.

Huawei watch and the silver band with links is what i wear currently and love it.
 
From what I've seen, quite frankly I think some of the Apple Watchs are still about the most dressiest, wear with a suit, and least geeky or hockey puck like of all smart-watches. But this is Android Forums of course and it requires an iPhone. I think the original Huawei Watch is OK, and NOT Huawei Watch 2, that's just fugly
 
Style is of course very subjective, but I don't find boxy watches like the Apple one smart (as in, elegant, OK to be worn with a suit) at all. Not to mention that, at least in the UK, the latest Apple Watch costs twice as much as a Huawei watch - a difference which is honestly hard to justify.
 
Fossil has some nice looking watches. The Q Founder is the one I'm currently sporting and the Q Marshall is also very attractive both come with steel bracelets. The pros are style and cost, the cons are the 'flat tire' screen to accommodate the ambient light sensor and no heart rate monitor (if you want one).
 
I got the Huawei watch the other day and i am really impressed with it. I have downloaded loads of stunning watch faces, including Rolex, Omega and Longines. The other night when i wore it out for the first time i had several people comment on how good it looked. Good luck.
 
I think Samsung Gear S2 classic would be perfect for you as per your requirements. As it is not that thick and also comes in with different bands which can go with any attire you will wear.
I know Gear S2 is old but it can help you look classy as it is by far closest to dress watch according to me.
 
That's not AndroidWear, is it? Can it show all notifications? I read in some posts that Samsung smartwatches don't show whatsapp notifications.
 
You are correct that Samsung Watches are not Android Wear and if your phone is not a Samsung phone you will have limited notifications. There's a compatibility chart here for the S3, but I would guess it's pretty much the same thing for the S2.
 
If you do decide to get an android wear smart watch i would recommend also downloading 2 apps. Watchmaker premium and my watches companion. Watchmaker gives you access to thousands of watch faces ranging from cartoony to designer.
I have obtained loads of prestige faces from the app, my one bug bear however was that when the watch went into dim mode, most watch faces either freeze the second hand, making it appear that your watch has stopped, or they change to a totally different looking face that is perhaps not as good looking.
My watches companion allows you to select a watch face, choose to remove second hand from dim mode or to remove dim mode altogether, then install it on your phone using watchmaker. I had bought the Huawei watch despite having a sony smart watch 3 as i always envied how real some of the quality round faces looked. I am now like a pig in the proverbial. Good luck.

Join the community and you can then either search for all round faces, square faces etc. using filters at left hand side of page or you can use the search facility to look for names.

In the end I bought (both used on ebay) an Huawei Watch and a Garmin Fenix 3.
The Huawei watch looks really nice; I'm experimenting with all the various faces.

The Garmin is a bulky but 10ATM waterproof watch. The only 10ATM waterproof Android wear watch I know of is the Nixon, which is similarly bulky. However, the big advantage of the Garmin is that the battery lasts about a week. I still get notifications from whatsapp calls emails (with k9 email) etc, which is what I was really after. I don't get access to the full chat history of whatsapp, and emojiis are not displayed correctly, but all in all it does the job brilliantly.
The Garmin Fenix Chronos seems very elegant and nice, but it's way too expensive.

They have GPS, yet. No idea if theirs is more accurate than that of other watches.
TBH, what I'd like doesn't really exist, because I'd settle for a lightweight watch, not too bulky, and which could be used with a dress, without a touchscreen (so battery lasts longer, like the week that Garmins boast!), with no fancy sensors, but with simply the ability to show and dismiss notifications on the screen - I don't care about typing on that tiny screen. I think Pebble used to do something similar. Oh, well...
 
I am currently holidaying in Tenerife and I have been amazed at the number of people commenting on my huawei w1. I have several Rolex faces on it as well as loads of other expensive brand names.
I also have several faces linked to my favourite football team.
The reaction when you show the face being swapped so easily is fantastic.
Someone with an Apple watch on, loved how realistic the watches looked. I love it and would buy again immediately should anything happen to it.

Reading your post I was attacked by nostalgia:D I was choosing the birthday gift for my father several days ago, decided to gift him a smartwatch, he wanted it for a long time and then, finally, he could get it. But! It was not so simple to choose, my father was a businessman, I offered him several options to choose from, he rejected everything for different reasons: "they look too sporty", "I will not put it on a suit", and so on:rolleyes:. I suffered with it for a long time, but finally stopped the choice on Huawei W1 classic.
