SMS app

im currently using an app for the blackberry that allows my sms to be forwarded to my email and when i respond to the email containing my sms it sends it back to my phone and then out as a text allowing me to text at work since phones are banned. Does the droid have an app that does this?

Unfortunately there is no app like that.

There is one app, though, where you can send/receive/view sms messages on your computer.

The name is RemoteSMS http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-grrzzz-remotesmsfull-qFij.aspx

It's cost is around $2.

It's not just an app but Google Voice will allow you to send/receive SMS via the GV site on a PC (only for your GV number).
