SMS backup application that saves in Dropbox

Hi Mestika, which OS does your computer running?

If it is Mac OS, you can take a look at SyncMate.

It cannot automatically send your SMS' backup to yuor Dropbox account, but it can export all of your messages into txt, csv, htm (and you can save this file into Dropbox folder). Please, note that this is just an export option, not backup (messages will be exported, but cannot be restored back to your device from this document).

One more note - this option is offered in Expert Edition only (in SMS Manager plugin).

And what about SyncMate in general - this is a sync app for Mac and Android (and numerous other devices) which also offers you additional non-sync options like SMS management, possibility to mount Android device as a Mac disk, etc. SyncMate will sync contacts & calendars between Mac and Android for free; you can sync images, videos, music, folders, bookmarks in Expert Edition.

Details about Mac & Android sync with SyncMate

As the option you are interested in is offered in paid edition, we advise to test Free Edition prior purchasing Expert edition, in order to be sure your device is supported. Or you contact me directly at alex.taylor_at_eltima.com and I will provide you with detailed description of SyncMate.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your answer.

Unfortunately, I'm using PC and Windows. The one backup program I have, it saves my messages in XML and then I can manually send it to my dropbox. So it actually works the way I want, except it lack the automatically feature to save on dropbox instead of my SDcard.

And is it possible to export SMS into file which is already saved in your Dropbox folder on the PC (I mean to save this XML file into Dropbox folder or is it saved into this app folder)?

In such case you will just update this file once new messages are in your phone and will have it updated in your Dropbox account. I'm not sure if this helps, but when updating the file with your SMS which is already in your Dropbox folder, you do not need to copy it to Dropbox.

You can use Sugarsync. The beauty of this over Dropbox is that you can choose any folder in your pc or phone to sync to its servers. So basically, install Sugarsync on both pc and phone, set the app to sync the default folder of your sms backup app to sugarsync, and it will automatically be updated. On your PC it will appear inside the Mobile Folders sectiobn of your Magic Briefcase folder (its counterpart for the Dropbox folder). Another great thing about Sugarsync is that the max cloud storage space you can get from referral (500mb per referral) is actually 105gb. I'm already at over 20gb and I'm using a free account.
