Help SMS backup problem (restore)

I've been using SMS Backup+ the last couple of times I upgraded phones and haven't had any problems. It's not working with the G5. It says it's processing 9600 items but I only get most of the call log and none of the messages. While it's processing, I can see the conversation threads but no items are present, only the person's name. I can see most of the data on Gmail but it isn't getting transferred, or at least I can't see it. After the restore completes, I can no longer see any of the old threads. Some recent items aren't present. Any ideas? Is there a better program to use?

I have the same problem also, upgraded from s2 skyrocket, sms backup+ says all messages backed up fine but when restoring all 28000 messages only 15 convos were there and only one message in each and all were not in chronological order. Looked around for other apps like go backup but same result in each case, so I gave up for the time being and just went message by message and typed all info I needed, pita

had the same problem. I think it has to do with KIT KAT . Before , all these apps had rights & permissions that are just not there with this new OS. I too, had convo's "get restored" with no messages.

If i decide to root, i will try to run this app again and see if that fixes it. will keep ya posted.

Try this as it restored my messages back after I installed a new rom and cleared every thing. In advanced settings/backup settings of sms backup+,scroll down to "Gmail label assigned to sms",click on it and change to newsms then click OK. Go back to main menu and click backup. All your current sms messages will be backed up to Label "newsms".
Go into Google Gmail,Move all your previous messages to Label "newsms".
Return to sms backup+ and restore.

That didn't work for me unfortunately. Restore is finishing successfully, but messages or call logs aren't appearing anywhere on phone (HTC One M7 4.4.3).
