I just sent a long SMS that decided to send as an mms.. How do I change this setting.. Stock messaging app

Anything over 160 characters goes as an MMS message due to SMS limitations. Nothing you can do about it.

On my Note 2 phone, stock messaging app settings menu, there is a tick box to give an alert when the mode changes to MMS.
