SMS Notifications on lock screen

Hi. Sorry if this has been asked before, done a search but couldn't find anything...

Basically I've just switched from an iPhone 3GS to Galaxy S3. The only thing I prefer about the iPhone is that new text messages were displayed on the lock screen so I didn't have to unlock my phone to read them. Is there any way to turn this feature on on the S3?

All help greatly appreciated!

Dave

Hi Dave, I haven't actually used it myself, but have seen an app called 'Missed It!' in the Google Play store, which looks like it will do what you are asking.

Thanks. I've found another one now called SMS Push which I'm gonna try out for a bit. So far so good! Anybody else used it before?

System Settings>Motion>Smart Alert. Turn that on and you will have an icon on the lock screen when you have a missed call or a text and swiping the icon, will open the message.

If you prefer to read on the lockscreen, which I do not recommend for security reasons, you can get widget locker from Play Store and put a messaing widget on it.
