Help SMS problem

Well i finally have my phone operational, calls can go out and come in, i messed with the WIFI at my house via the phone. For some reason i receive messages via t mobile for any account info, but if i try sending a text message out, the little icon on the side shows sending, it just never sends.... am i doing something wrong or is their a issue with the stock SMS??

Mind all of you i just came from a Optimus M 2.2 froyo, the basic functions are somewhat the same but yeaaa a tad different.

i decided to restart the phone and apparently that solved the problem. texting is normal i can send and receive.
