Help SMS Turning in to MMS

hello friends, i got a sms from friend.....it was a long msg....when i forward it to others it went as MMS....it is only then i noticed when my balance became low.....when i tried to send it again..i noticed it is being converted in to MMS....but it is a text message.....pls help guyzz

Android converts any messages longer than three texts into multimedia messages.

In standard android there's an option to turn this feature off, unfortunately in TouchWiz (Samsungs variation) there isn't, as far as I'm aware.

If anyone can correct me on this I'd be grateful as it's something I run into a lot as well.

yeah i dont like this either didnt do it on my g1. i get charged for mms not texts so would like to be able to turn it of if possible.

I believe there are a few alternate messaging apps on the marketplace, though I've never used any.
I would imagine they would solve the problem.
