Help Snapchat keeps crashing?

HinaKhan11

(Keep in mind before reading: I have an older version of the app as I don't have much storage to update it)
Whenever I open Snapchat, it switches off my phone and drains my battery. Now I'm not sure if it's my device, the battery, or just the old version of the app but it's getting frustrating. It won't turn on immediately. I need to take out the battery and re-insert it in order for it to work again.
The moment I open it, it crashes immediately! Please help me fix the problem.

Edit: I ended up updating the app but it still crashes a lot and drains my battery, but it doesn't turn off my phone like it used to.
Is there a way for it to not freeze up and crash on me?

Have you tried clearing Snapchat's data and cache? It could just be the old unsupported version and it's choking on whatever the Snapchat service now requires. If so there's probably nothing you can do, apart from seeing about updating it.

I ended up updating it, actually. However it still crashes and freezes up as it used to on me.
