"Snowglobe" File Manager

AZUREstrand

Lurker
The idea is pretty simple to explain. Since android devices can detect movement and tilt, I thought it would be cool to have a 3D file manager based on the concept of a snowglobe. Files are represented as little pieces of paper, which, by default are piled in a virtual heap at the bottom of the screen. When you shake or tilt your android device, it attempts to calculate the force and direction, and stirs up the files into a gentle storm of swirling papers. To access one of the files, simply attempt to "grab" the file from the storm by touching it. It's a kind of "test your luck" system. A randomizer. Say you don't know what music from your library to listen to. Open up your music folder in the snowglobe, give it a shake, and snatch the first file you can find. It'll show you what you selected, and you can either release it back into the swirl and try again, or open the file. It can also work for randomizing your background. Open up your images folder and give it a whirl. It's not an app exclusively for functionality. It /is/ a unique way of randomizing content, but it is also something of a stress reliever. I always found snowglobes soothing. I'm not sure how advanced the accelerometers in android phones and tablets are, but if they're able to perform these functions, that would be really cool.
