So, how do you do the fancy stuff with the camera?

Hi all,

Finally got my N5 and spent the best part of a day playing with it, customising it and falling in love with it!

However, I there are some cool camera tricks I saw in articles when the N5 was launched that I can't seem to recreate. I seem to remember seeing an article about one (god knows where, I can't find the link!) that said you could take multiple photographs and it would then edit out all the "moving" information - it used a couple standing in the middle of a road as an example and removed all the other pedestrians and cars so it looked as if it was just this couple standing there with the building in the background.

Another showed stitching multiple shots together to show how something had moved in a shot - it used a basketball player in mid air and there were 7/8 balls stuck on the shot to show the path that basketball had travelled to get to the hoop.

I really hope I haven't dreamed this, so if you know how to do these please share!

And if there are any other cool tricks to do with the N5 camera, share them too!!

Thanks

As far as I've seen, Auto-Awesome is only an Auto feature.

I watched the demo video a week or two ago and immediately transferred every photo I've taken in the last 5 years onto google+ (25,000+ pictures).

Auto Awesome then scans them and applies it's features and filters onto the pictures where necessary.

For example, when you've taken a burst series of a subject, it may create a gif to make it look like a small movie, or it may edit out moving background objects or it can create a motion sequence shot.

It's mind bendingly clever and still in the earliest stages.

The best feature by miles is the search function. What would have previously been an epic list of 25,000 photos where it was hard to find specific ones, I can now search 'Dog' or 'sunset' and it instantly brings up every dog or sunset photo I've taken. Christ knows how it does it but it's absolutely sensational.
