So how long is your battery lasting.

I'm curious as to how long the battery is lasting for different users. My phone is on for about 16 hours daily and I usually make it thru the day with little battery life to spare... not nearly the 48 hours they proclaim. Any settings I should change to increase the battery life. If it totally makes it thru the day I'm happy... but I can see on a heavy day I may not make it.

Well, can you take and post a screenshot of the settings / battery page?

Screenshots are taken by pressing volume down and power at the same time until you hear a shutter sound and see a screen flash.

... and how long have you been using it? A good rule-of-thumb is to not try to evaluate the battery during the first week ... it is not representative. (I just started my second day.)

Also ... have you done a Wipe Cache Partition deleting all temporary data?

Just reading this at work now.... i'll try the wipe cache and report back in a day or two

After 2 weeks I am getting 10 hours of heavy use out of the battery which is fine with me I just love how well this phone performs

just a question... when the phone is turned off should all apps be closed and wifi/ 4g turned off? or doesn't it matter?

I'm not quite getting it. You mean the phone is powered on and the screen is black? If that is the case then there can be apps running in the background that are consuming the battery charge.

If it is powered off then there is nothing running in the background.

It's really up to you, but with a phone with a large battery like the Turbo 2, I'd say just keep things (including WiFi and mobile data) on.

This was my experience this week. Note; I'm not a power user by any means nor is my phone glued to my hand all day. I charged the phone overnight Sunday and took it off the charger at about 5 am. 48 hours later (Wednesday morning) my battery read 48 %. This morning (Thursday) my battery was still at 21%. At about 7:30 it was at 15% and I put it on the charger. Everyday I made my 100 mile 2 hour roundtrip commute to work, checking google maps and raindar occasionally. I read on the kindle app about 45 minutes each day. Each day a couple texts and phone calls. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi always on. No streaming of music or video. It took about 3 hours to charge back to 100% using an older charger. This is very similar to my Droid Maxx when it was new.

My phone survives 16 hr days in a poor reception hospital and then dies. That's a couple hrs longer than any phone I've owned prior, including the lg g2 and g3.

If you check your battery usage you'll likely see the screen and Google Services using the bulk of your battery.

Battery drain from the screen is obvious, but the drain from Google Services is likely due mostly to it activating your device antennas for syncing, backups, location, and other OTA communications whether on GPS, cell, or Wifi.

I use Screebl to turn my screen off within 5 seconds of putting it down. I then use Tasker, Secure Settings, and Autoinput to do several other things, one of which is to turn off all antennas and go into Battery Saver mode when the screen is off. Turning the screen on automatically reactivates everything.

Unless you're using your phone *constantly*, these things will greatly improve your battery life.

I use Tasker, monitor the proximity sensor, when covered the screen is turned off unless I am on a phone call.

I just measured mine and it was 45hours.

Isn't Tasker great??

Once you get Google Services under control, apps that ping the phone's cell radio are next in line. I don't wanna mess with this too much because I wanna get phone calls and messages... but I think I'll start trying to get some of the other apps to stop using it so much.

To the original question of this thread, I can make it through 48 hours only with minimal phone use. And I mean *minimal* use. Although it's one of the biggest phone batteries available, calling it a 48 hour battery is kinda stretching it IMO. However, since it is big, it probably has the best potential of long life if you control the big battery draining apps.

With moderate use, after about 16 hours of use, I'm usually down to 20-25% battery level. I keep Wi-Fi, BT, and GPS for the most part. Maybe Wi-Fi for about 4 hours and BT for about 30 min. So far, I haven't used GPS much.

Part of the reason I stay with droids, other than I just love the build, it's not having to worry about battery or managing it. No turning this or that off to save battery etc. I took my t2 off of charge around 7 this morning, and now at 10:45pm I have 32%. I'm still in my first week with the t2 so I think that may get a little better in the next couple weeks. HOWEVER, this battery is not lasting like the one in my original turbo. I know it's a little smaller but my thinking was that the 810 would be a bit more efficient than the 805, maybe not? I've never expected 48 hours, I'm a heavy user so it still does fine for me.
