I have now had my Droid Charge for two weeks and two days... 
Very first smartphone!
Son-in-law was encouraging me to get an A4S, but I was drawn to Android from the beginning.
After all, I use Firefox and Thunderbird, why would I not want to go with Android?
My first encounter with this site was a result of doing a google search for app permissions. Thanks from one more newb to alostpacket, and others who have shared their thoughts in that great thread!
I will read a lot, consider, and learn here. Much to learn about Droids, and posts!
