Root Soft Brick (?) after formatting SD card

Title says it all. My SD card had a bunch of unnecessary files so I formatted it using the option in android settings. Then it wouldn't read my card saying it is of a different format, so I formatted it again using the SD card formatting tool. I was then able to put in the Elemental X ROM, and tried flashing. Everyone worked, but as it boots up to the animation, my phone just keeps restarting and goes back to the animation to only restart again. I tried flashing CM10.1, and have the same results.

Is my only option to follow this method?

What do you mean by a hard reset? Wiping data/cache in CWM? If that's it, I've already tried that unfortunately.

Pop your sdcard into a computer and fat32 format it or format it through CWM/twrp and see if that gives you better results.

only if you have an /sd-ext partition. You probably don't.

I will try neph's unbrick method. However, whenever I plug in my phone into USB (ever since I installed jelly bean I think), my computer was never able to read it to transfer files to and from. Is this going to be a problem when cab flashing?

No.

IF you're talking about it reading from ADB, you need a different version of ADB to work with Jellybean. I think I posted one up somewhere around here... Can't recall.

Download Mode has next to nothing to do with the version of android you had on your phone. If your phone isn't recognized in download mode... Either your drivers, cable are screwed up. If you fix both of those... the phone's probably hosed.

I've kept trying to cab flash (followed every direction) and keep getting this error. Any ideas?

Looks like you didn't follow the directions tbh.

You have to issue the commands through terminal to the executable, which will pass them all to the lg tool... it looks like you're just running the tool.

I did issue the commands by running KP500. Didn't use the LG support at all. It opened by itself after entering all the data in terminal.
I just couldn't put my phone in debug phone since I can't even access my settings since it won't even boot. Will this affect the process?
Other than that, I installed all drivers (you were supposed to do this while your phone is connected right?) and disabled the device in device manager.

What settings?

Your phone should be in download mode. There are no settings.

This part can be a bit tricky.

disconnect usb, pull the battery.

Hold Both vol up and vold down (at the same time) while connecting the usb port. The phone should boot into download mode.

Yeah I did put it in download mode as well. How can you go to download with the battery pulled out? It's not working for me. Previously, I went into download mode without my SD card, but my battery plugged in.

I thought so...I was wondering where the magic power was coming from :D
I am doing this on windows 8. Do you think that is part of the problem?

Windows 8 is not your issue. Just make sure you have all the drivers installed properly. I've had that issue for a long time. I also have booting problems with my spectrum. Cabbed it and all but still has it, every time I root it , it'll sometimes want to boot. Yes I've tried Roms, I've tried many things, but in your case, I'm not very sure what would cause this. Try a different SD Card and let it format itself in the phone. Take the back off , take the battery out , take the SD Card out , wait a few seconds and put SD back in and battery and turn on. If that doesn't help the situation then make sure you are reading that thread EXACTLY. For some reason it LG won't let me cab my Spectrum to V6 anymore. I suppose they stopped supporting it. So try V8. Thanks and let me know if this solves your problem! :)

This has been confirmed to work on Windows 8, but I can all but guarentee that you are typing the path to the file incorrectly. I don't know what sort of user permissions Win8 has to deal with, but I would stick the KP500 and the .cab file both in the directory C:\KP500\ and run it from there. For what it's worth, Win8 is seeing the phone, so it's not a driver issue.

I'm stumped at this point. Look at this screenshot of my desktop. Am I typing something wrong in the commands? Any files missing in the KP500 directory?

That all looks fine to me. What sort of output are you getting when you use that specific command? Also, what happens when you try running the KP500 tool as Administrator. If this all fails, running the LG Tool and choosing Recovery Phone should flash your phone as well. The KP500 is more for downgrading purposes.

I have been running the tool as administrator. This is the error I am getting:
