I got a Motorola CLIQ about a week ago. I'm trying to get it unlocked to iWireless (a local wireless provider in Iowa). I used unlockingonline.com and they responded to me:
It is with regret that we have taken the decision to refund
your order and payment for the following service:-
Motorola Cliq unlock service
which you purchased from our website:
MOBILEUNLOCKED.COM
at: 06:32:24 PM GMT on August,28 2010
--------------------------------------------------------------------
REFUND REASON
--------------------------------------------------------------------
The reason why your order could not be processed is as follows:
CODE NOT FOUND IN MANUFACTURERS DATABASE
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately, an unlock code for your handset was not found in
the central Motorola database.
It might be the case that your handset is relatively new and the
database which we source codes from normally takes about 3-6 weeks
to update with new codes for new handsets.
Alternatively, it might be the case that your Motorola
handset is locked to a network which has exclusive control over
their own Motorola unlock codes.
Is there such thing as a software unlock? Can I somehow flash a new unlocked firmware on this phone?
Thanks for your help!
