Root Software Update??

I just received a notice for stock software update on my Y301A1 (MetroPcs). Has anyone else received this? If I accept it will I lose root and CWM recovery? Oh, the software update # is for y301a1c85b138. My phone is currently at y301a1c85b132.
 
Huawei Valiant Y301-A1 (MetroPcs) rooted with recovery. Unlocked, running on ATT network.

y301a1c85b138 is the software update # it is asking me to take (current phone software is y301a1c85b132). Hadn't seen anyone else post anything about it. Thanks
 
Something strange your shore your rooted . I never seen a update to a unlocked device you may want to watch that one if you do get it post what it updated . or go to huawai site and see if this is a important update
 
I received the update on my Valiant, stock, locked and unrooted. Only new things I noticed are Google Play Games, Google Drive and Hangouts are now installed, sooooo, I guess this was just a Google junkware update?
 
It won't update if you're on CWM. I tried and it just threw me an error. Probably need to be on stock recovery or maybe if there's a way to manipulate the downloaded update (zip) so that it can flash on CWM.

I don't have access to the phone until Monday. If no one else tries until then, I'll give it a go and upload the file if it works.
 
Hi all, I received this update on my valiant but I can not because I have CWM and update fails to install, anyone have any solution? who can provide the stock recovery?
 
Hello again, just wanted to know if anyone out here we would bring the stock recovery to install the new update on the huawei.

Sorry for the delay. I've linked the OTA (original, no edits). I tried converting it to something that can be flashed with CWM from a couple tutorials I found online (but i hardly tried honestly), I tried sideloading it but no go (can anyone else mount sdcard or external sdcard? I can't).

But I briefly looked at the contents and it looks like what Spec2nirvash had said, mostly a google apk update but also some updates to a number of libs (libraries?).

The libraries are updates. The kernel is also updated to the most recent Android version of the Linux Kernel (the same one used to KitKat). Facebook is also preloaded with the update. In terms of making the package CWM flashable, that is not an option, because it uses the UPDATE.APP in the fat folder to flash the .p patches, which (to my knowlege) we have no way to extract and modify.
 
What I would like to know is how to stop the stupid update from popping up telling me i need to update, constantly, its rather annoying now.

Did you update already? If not I think maybe you should because I didn't and now I haven't been able to sign in any Google account on my phone which means no play store and my contacts were sync to my Google :(
 
nope didnt update, and still running fully, im no cwm, so dont know how to update or take it off so i can update lol

If you have a root, using root browser (Google root browser apk) navigate to /system/etc and find hosts, it will be
"
Localhost 127.0.0.1
(Some Google url) 123.45.67.890
"
Or similar, Comment the second line, so it looks like
"
Localhost 127.0.0.1
#(Some Google url) 123.45.67.890
"
Save and restart

Does this zip it works when you flash it with CMW? or I have to use another method
