I've released Solaris 1.2, which now includes a live map of Earth's aurora projected onto a 3D interactive sphere. The auroral map shows estimated auroral activity based on particle energy flux as measured from NOAA's Polar Orbiting Environmental Satellites - there's interesting information here:

Solaris also displays recent pictures of the Sun taken by the Extreme Ultraviolet Imagers aboard NASA's two STEREO spacecraft. Solaris also projects these images onto an interactive 3D globe. More information about STEREO can be found here:
