solid explorer otg

I have Solid explorer on the moto g 3 and it sees the otg atached 32gig stick ust fine - three drive options, all fully functional for moving pasting etc ( great app ! )
However - I have just bought a lenovo tab 3 10". Thats has the same android 6.0.1. - both up to date on system.

When I try to highlight the usb 1 ( three options - phone memory, sd card, usb 1 ) it does not have it !
Fiddling with it I accidentally ( not sure how ) made usb 2 - and usb 3 options appear ? ( so I now have five drives - phone, sd, usb 1 2 &3 ) When I use 3 - it mount the drive and sees it - all is fine !
Very odd. I can only think its a glitch in the andriod way of naming drives ? It thinks I and 2 are taken ?
Anyway - it works.
Perfectly fine on the moto g3 by the way. Cant fault it - Solid is a good name !

edit
ps - the Lenovo work just fine to otg drive - all as normal. Just an odd glitch in the solid/lenovo interface ?

All this came from fighting all day with a nav program on the tablet - and trying to transfer gpx files from tablet to phone ( same program on phone ) The program would export gpx but not import ! So I have to physically dump them in the app folder. Dumb - they let me put the app on two devices but don't think to maybe share files between them ?

Bluetooth would work moto to tablet but not in reverse ? Updated tablet system files and now it seems to be ok ! Solid still the same though ?
email and G drive need data connection ( not useful out at sea ) so it was either otg or bluetooth - both of which got me shouting at the cat - and I have no cat !
