Solid State Drives

Anyone had experience of a Solid State Drive on the LG G2 SmartPhone or an Android tablet ( I'm considering buying the G pad 10inch ) with an OTG cable connector?

If yes, what sort of size of drive works, I'm looking at 250GB plus??

Many thanks in advance for any replies

I don't really have an answer for you but there are possibilities.

I know it is possible to connect a HDD to a phone or tablet, but you have to make sure it has adequate power so it will have to be used in an enclosure. And even then i'm not sure if that would be enough power. I've seen videos of people connecting there WD Passport drive to their tablet. As for compatibility, without a test there is no way to know for sure if a SSD will work. But it shouldn't differ from a HDD.

Hi

Thanks for the reply it's really nice to know people out there want to help!

I'm waiting to buy the new 10in LG G pad tablet when it's released. Already left the iPhone 4 behind for an LG G2 and the iPad 2 will be the next to go, so I think I'll just get a SSD with a PSU and if it doesn't work I'll use it on my Fritz!box 7390 as a NAS drive and access it that way.

Thanks again.

You're Welcome :)

Check on YouTube for people who have successfully connected their tablet or phone to an external and move on from there.
