(Solved) android bookmark a YouTube channel in Chrome?

vgt

Newbie
Hi,
I am using Coolpad 3300A with android version 4.4.4. I have Chrome installed, YouTube app installed. When I bring up a YouTube channel in Google search results on Chrome, if I select it, YouTube app opens it.

How do I select that result so that I can bookmark it instead of opening it in YouTube? Here is why I need to bookmark it:

Long before I had a smartphone, I chose an obscure YouTube URL spelling a word with numbers between each letter, like W1o2r3d. That alternating between abc and 123 on the little keyboard to type this is more than it's worth. I tried using my domain name, but that's a spelling bee when it comes to speaking it into the phone. It might go like "HTTP colon slash slash www example com slash YouTube." (http://www.example.com/youtube intended!)

I'm from the desktop keyboard and screen world.

Thank you.

If you open in New tab or in incognito, it should open in a new tab. Also if you go to YouTube.com it should open in browser, then search for your video (you can enter url in search tab on YouTube)

I've discovered the recent apps menu and how to access a load of apps I had used and that were clogging up the phone. I've closed everything not in use and it runs fast as new.

Now I should try once again to set Chrome as the one-time default for loading YouTube.com. If still I get an unloaded screen and no star to tap to set the bookmark, then I will try your new-tab idea.

Chrome refuses to load the YouTube website,

Please advise on how to open a link in a new tab? I will try that. I need to load the page in Chrome to set a bookmark -- or is there another way to set a bookmark?

For instance, I can bookmark another site in Chrome and edit its contents to point to my YT channel? I need directions to edit.

Or I can load YouTube in Browser, so if I can create a bookmark there, I can import it into Chrome? How do I create a Browser bookmark? Then how do I import it into Chrome?

Once I set a bookmark one way or another for my channel, I can open Chrome, select the bookmark and let YouTube app take it away.

Can I set a bookmark in YouTube? I saw nothing on the app's menu for bookmarks.

If you type YouTube.com in your browser it opens YouTube app?? It shouldn't.
To open a link in New tab long press on it and press open in New tab or open in incognito, that should open it in the browser, and then you can save a bookmark

Here is what I discovered before I could read the answers to my question.

I was using Google, the app, and it opened YouTube, the app. I could not find the way to bookmark from there, but when I started with Chrome, and went to my YouTube channel URL, it showed me a blank screen in Chrome, did not open the app for YouTube, as "A bochur" said it shouldn't.

I was looking in the wrong place to find the star that would bookmark the page. I needed to tap the menu button below the screen on the phone to see what I was looking for -- that star. I also found there the new tab and incognito options there as well.

I bookmarked my channel successfully, and now I just need to speak my letter-number user name and instead of the garbage Google gave me,"M1" (a user), "U2" (a rock band), etc., I went straight to my channel at the top of the search result and opened it in the YT app.

Thank you for your suggestions, A bochur!
