Help SOLVED: Audio disturbance/feedback when playing through aux?

Wondering if anyone can help with this...

My music plays fine through my speakers on the phone but I plugged it into the aux on my car today and I got that horrible, fuzzy feedback noise as well as the music.

Never happened before, I've used the same music files on multiple different devices and never had this problem. I've also checked both ends of the aux were connected properly, they were.

I thought it was the music apps settings but it happened on both PowerAmp and Play Music.

Any suggestions how I can fix this?? Music on the go from my phone is a big deal.

I'd start with trying a different audio cable - and maybe try connecting to a different sound system as well. Ruling out the external hardware first will make it easier to diagnose the issue.

Did you try connecting to a different speaker system?
Not yet, no. Honestly though I don't think it will make a difference, I've never had a problem with my car system and cable. And that's using multiple different devices. The phone is literally the only thing that's different.

So I've sold my own problem...

Turns out it was the phone that's the problem. I guess I'm just used to using phones with better analogue audio playback capabilities. For example, my previous phone was the Sony Z3, a phone that flaunted the Sony Walkman brand to the fullest.

To solve this, I simply bought a cheap (£15) Bluetooth receiver from Amazon and plugged that into my aux, hey presto! Non fuzzy sound!

I'd recommend a cheap Bluetooth receiver to anyone who uses their phone for audio in the car. Even Apple users will be happy!

I'm glad you found a workaround, but is the total issue fully investigated or figured out?

With vehicles, ground loop interference and other problems can be a legitimate issue that cause hum, fuzz, buzz, or static through the audio system especially when trying to send audio out while charging the phone at the same time.

Did the audio-out work on any other wired cable and speaker set up? It would be best to rule out a true hardware problem/malfunction with the phone itself. Plus any more detailed information that you can provide might be helpful to others

I plugged the same cable i was using on the phone into the Bluetooth receiver.

I guess the only difference is that this is the first phone I've ever had that has a metal back. So that could've caused some kind of interference. I'm pretty sure I also held the phone in just my hand though as well.
