[SOLVED] ConnectBot - How To SSH tunneling

Hello android fans,

I've downloaded an app from the market called Connect bot. This app says it can do ssh tunneling.

Does anyone know how I can do this with Connect Bot?

I've search the options within the program but could not find any info.

I would greatly appreciate any help thanks.

PS: If anyone know of another aap I can use to do ssh tunneling into my linux box, that would be helpful too.

I honestly never got around to SSH tunneling but I did use this to VNC some just messing around:

android-vnc-viewer - VNC viewer/client for Android platform - Google Project Hosting

Looks like RealVNC has an app now too, they have always had decent Windows VNC clients.

I've found this link below on ssh tunneling with Connectbot. They call it Ports Forwarding.

BTW, I am using android vncviewer as you suggested.

Anyway, I followed the directions from the link above and it worked. The reason ssh tunneling is important is because VNC is not secure as I read and heard.

When you enter a password to log into your VNC server, it is sent as clear text with no encryption and if there are any man-in-the-middle snooping by, they can steal your password.

Now I can use android vncviewer with connectbot to secure VNC traffic.

Indeed vnc is not nearly as safe as SSH tunneling, thanks for posting back the tutorial
