Some apps cant be upgraded for lack of space?

Hi, was wondering if others have this problem.

I have a samsung note but my friend has a sony arc s and same problem..

Certain apps cant be upgraded via the app store, when you do it will download a bit then say that there's no more space available, and I have about 5 gb space.

It's almost always Facebook, flip board.. maybe some more..

If I uninstall it and download the new version it works.

Anyway anyone know what the problem might be?

I don't know offhand what would cause it. When you say you have 5 GBs, is that what shipped on the device, or is that what you have free?

Dropbox does this on my Desire sometimes, even when there is enough internal storage left to cover both the download size and intalled size. Usually after a few retries it works. No other app I use does this.

Well, "Galaxy Note" is a tough search (as Samsung tends to run their nomenclature into the ground by slapping it on everything they make, but I digress); I was curious ton see if Samsung partitioned the storage at all. I came across this app. Maybe it'll give you a different view about what's happening with your storage.
