some of my contacts are displayed twice

in samsung contacts, some of my contacts are displayed twice.

in outlook there is only one of each.

i have selected only custom to display, (not device, google, samsung, sims etc)

some of the duplicates seem identical and are in the same group, others are in different groups e.g. 'archive' and 'none selected'.

I use vcorganizer for syncing and these contacts are not displayed as dupes in vco contacts.

any idea how to resolve this?

I am using a note 4.

If you're sure that you're only syncing one account for contacts, then just go into Applications Manager --> All --> Contacts Storage and then "Clear Data". It will re-sync and hopefully there won't be any duplicates.
