BTW, when I was in college I worked at a furniture store chain doing data entry--on a Decision Data 9610. It used punched cards, but not the long 80-column cards most people picture when thinking of punched cards. It used 96-column cards, which were actually much smaller. They were fed into IBM System/3 mainframes. Ah, the good old days.
