Just wondering if anyone knows how to get my Gmail avatar to show up in the Gmail app (when you swipe from the left of the screen to open the settings/folder menu, the avatars at the top)?
I have 3 gmail accounts and I have set my avatars on the Gmail wesbite through Settings > My Picture but none of them show up in the app. They also don't show up in the Google Play app. I'm not a Google+ user, so does this have anything to do with it?
I've done some googling and one thing I read was to change the avatar from within the Hangouts app. Strangely, the avatar I'd set showed up but I couldn't change it without being a G+ user. So it shows in Hangouts but not Gmail or Play Store.
Other things I've tried include: disabling and re-enabling sync; clearing Gmail app's cache and data; uninstalling Gmail updates and updating again; removing an account and adding it again. Numerous reboots along the way. Any ideas?
One more thing, why are two of the default avatar icons green and one is blue?
