Some questions on sync programs

Hi everyone, I'm new to these forums.
I recently got an HTC Incredible S running Android. I've been trying to figure out how to sync my outlook (I use calendar, contacts and tasks), and I definitely don't want to sync through google services.

So I installed VCOrganizer pro, which seems decent but I have a couple of gripes with it:

1) You need to purchase the autosync extension to sync automatically.
2) The tasks program is quite crappy. Not sure if there's a different tasks program you can use with VCOrganizer.
3) It offers no way of syncing my music or files (if i'm not mistaken)

So I came across this program called Android Sync Manager from MobileAction. It looks really good and the interface looks straightforward and user-friendly (plus it syncs music), but I've read mixed reviews on it. Some people say it doesn't do a "true sync". Can someone elaborate on this? What does this mean and why is it bad? Should I not use this program?

I really need to figure out which app to use for syncing my outlook + music, as I've had this phone for a month now and it's getting frustrating. I appreciate any feedback.

Thx.

I use MyPhoneExplorer to sync Outlook (was on Outlook 2000 - just installed Outlook 2010 - but both on XP Pro) contacts and calendar to my HTC Desire HD. I also use it to sync my music and to install any apks I may want to install from my PC.

Tasks: doesn't do that - yet. I have the trial of VCOrganizer installed at the moment and I can edit tasks on the phone and the PC and sync them up. Not tried the calendar yet though.

See ... Sync Android/Droid with Outlook/Exchange .... for more options.

Thanks for the reply.
Tasks is a must for me. And that android sync manager 'looks' really good. But like I said, I've read mixed reviews and people are saying it doesn't do a true sync. If anyone can give some more input on this I'd appreciate it.

Razz thx for the reply, I will look into that post and get back.
However, the lack of syncing tasks may be a dealbreaker for me.

if anyone has input regarding android sync manager plz let me know. Thanks.
