Help "Somehow, somewhere, something went wrong."

I was messaging on Twitter on my Galaxy S4, and when I closed out of the app this message popped up: "Somehow, somewhere, something went wrong." Is this a legitimate message? It seems like a weird way to word it. What does it mean?

I'm just curious as to why it may have been worded like that and didn't just say something went wrong

Could have been, was it the official Twitter app or a third-party one? Sometimes devs do put humorous error messages in their wares...

Chrome..."He's dead, Jim!"

WinSCP... “OOPS: child died.”

It was Twitter who introduced the "Fail whale", for when they have problems or errors on their site.
