something happened to my keyboard - no letters

I have not had any issues typing messages on my phone but I may have pressed something in error now my keyboard looks different. There are no letters only numbers and symbols. How can I get it back? Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

The key in the lower left should switch it between alpha and symbol.
