son locked me out of my phone, help

My son was messing around with my phone and locked me out. Of course I cannot remember the backup password, or if I even set up a password. Is there anything I can do before having to do a factory reset? I have tried android device manager, but since the phone is already locked that will not work.

Five hours is a long time to be locked out of your phone,I feel ya.

If you haven't set up a password the default is the last four numbers of your phone's number.
