dammit!

Apparently...even though I've read different online and it was confirmed by a metro pcs corporate store employee...

I can't get this tmo xperia z on metro!

Needs unlock code still (doesn't make sense). Called metro n they said they can't do it without getting the unlock code from Sony. So I call Sony. Sony says dive its a tmo branded device only tmo can unlock.

Called tmo and they said they can't unlock it because I bought it from Sony directly and that never would they (tmo) be askew to supply the code. They said since I bought it from Sony directly that only they could give it to me

So basically I have a brand new phone I can't activate on metro. Tmo said I couldopen an ain't with them but I don't want to pay $80 for the same thing I get for 60 (unlimited plan)

Please help me

If you bought directly from Sony. couldn't you give them the receipt to prove it was bought through them? Also, if it was bought directly from Sony, shouldn't it be network unlocked? What's the exact model name of your phone?

I'm guessing it's a GSM device? Aren't metro CDMA? (forgive my lack of knowledge of US Networks). Over here (the UK), if I want to unlock a device, all I need to do is put another networks SIM in and enter an unlock code purchased for a couple of pounds from eBay. Not sure how it works over the pond.

Typos + Swype = Swypo :)

metro and tmobile actually merged metro now uses the tmobile network and gsm phones
for awhile now actually.havent seen a cdma metro phone in years now

i dunno what they are trying to pull but they should be able to give you your specific unlock code

once you unlock that sim you should be able to use a metropcs sim and all that.

It's the Sony xperia z c6606 lte. I bought from Sony on their ebay store (brand new condition)

Came with all the T-Mobile logos...sim card...even the apps are tmo.

I only bought it because I was told I could use it on metro now that they have merged into one company (tmo owns them)

But since I didn't buy the phone directly from a.tmo store they said im out of luck on using it unless I use it on tmo.

Sony says cuz it's tmo branded only they can provide the unlock code.

Basically everyone points the finger at the other and I have no unlock code and no phone.

I tried just putting in a metro sim. Asked for unlock code. I also checked service menu and see its network locked with 5 attempts to enter correct choose before its permanently locked.
