Song as Notification Sound for HTC Evo

I have a sound that is saved in my music. I would like to make it my text notification sound. How do I do this. Thank you.

There are actually apps in the Play Store that can help with this. One of my favorites is RingDroid.

This app allows you to use either the entire song or just one portion for a ringtone, and you can assign it as your default ringtone or for a particular contact.

For an SMS notification ringtone, however, you might have tip use an app like Mp3 ringtone cutter.
