Help Songs can be played, but not showing up in music app

I have a totally stock Verizon S3 and I am using the Touchwiz music player.

I uploaded 5 songs as a test to see if it worked a few weeks ago via kies and everything worked fine. All the songs played fine and they all showed up in the music player.

Last night I uploaded a few more songs using kies. Out of the 7 I uploaded, only 2 show up in the list of songs in the music player. However, if I go to the audio folder, all the songs are there and they all play fine if I click on the file. They're the same type of music files as the prior 5 songs and none of the file names are extremely long or contain any special characters and are all similiarly named, i.e. 10 - song name. The Amazon mp3 player shows a few more songs, but still does not show everything.

Any ideas?

I have a similar issue with the Google music. Will play the songs on my phone but they refuse to upload to their server with no errors.

I don't use Kies. I just copy the files to my Music folder. I never had any such issues.

In the setting menu for the music app, there is a bit where you choose the folders that your music is in.
I personally use poweramp instead. It does cost but there is a free trial. You won't be disappointed
