Help Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S Wi-Fi Problem

So I got this phone yesterday and it has been great, but I decided I would try and connect to the internet via wifi and behold... no luck.

It is constantly scanning and dropping all the networks, never connecting to any router. I have created a hotspot from my computer and left it open to see if I could connect and still no luck.

Also, it keeps trying to connect to BTOpenzone all the time, even when clicking to forget it.

Any Help would be great

I managed to sort the problem with my router. I can't guarantee the same process will work for anyone else, but it definitely worked for me.

I made a walk-through, here:

My router is a TP-Link TL-WR841N and they're really cheap to buy in the UK.

I registered with this site so that I could post the solution to this problem that I stumbled over.

Like so many Arc S users around the world, mine hooked up to my home wifi no problem........for about two days. Then the phone simply did not pick up the wifi in my flat. I tried turning the phone off, the router off, the phone and the router off......and on.......and off.......and on.....

I scanned and rescanned........still no wifi. Meanwhile, my HTC Legend found the wifi. My Acer A500 found the wifi. My laptop found the wifi. My ipod found the wifi. Any friends coming over found the wifi.

My Arc S didn't.

I searched website after website and resolved to not manually assign IP addresses to every piece of kit coming into my flat. I checked every setting on the Netgear DG834G but to no avail.

Then, whilst playing around on the router's settings page I spotted a soft reboot option. I clicked the mouse on the button.

Internet went down (quelle surprise?), the lights flicked and flickered. I looked at my Arc S.

We have wifi!!!!!!! Yippee!

Long, frustrating story and I have absolutely no idea why a soft reboot worked where a hard reboot didn't, but anyway, have a go at this option fellas.
