Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Officially Announced

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10/X3/Rachael, (Am I missing another name? )made its way to public eyes today. According to CNet the PDA looking phone will sport a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor. This will make it one of the most powerful mobile phones out there.
However, based on the lack of CDMA bands it seems it will hit a GSM carrier.
Specifications:
OS: Android 1.6 with Sony’s own UI
Display: 4 inch screen with 854

Hmm had a flick through that and it has it down as being released Q1 2010 but then it states the OS as 1.6. One would think that they would up this to 2.0 if it is released then. Also the discussion of 32GB internal storage on other recent threads may be slightly over exaggerated as the release has it down as up to 1GB internal storage. It also has a WVGA TFT screen (i thought it was due to be OLED - although forgive my ignorance as i am not very knowledgeable about screens, although the led monitors i have seen look amazing)

Not sure about the OS, but that can be changed; hmm will see which of this and the droid come to Orange UK (if any!)

They told us November 3rd was the day and they didn’t disappoint – Sony Ericsson has officially announced the Xperia X10 as their first Android Phone and a beauty it is. The unveiling came complete with a video: List of specs: The Sony Ericsson XPERIA

I think the Camera {and android of course} are the best features of the phone for me personally.

A 8MP camera , With 16x digital zoom , Face detection! I wish this camera was the standard on all Android Phones from now on...... But is it realistic? :D

I think I read somewhere that Sony Ericsson has the Android Market & Sony Ericsson's own application Market , Is this true?

The OS is a minor thing. As you stated tht can easily be updated or changed; however, the hardware is pretty sweet, and the 1 gig internal storage is not bad. That is a lot of apps.
The phone looks good and it comes with a lot of the Google and Sony software. I'm sure it will get a lot of the sony bloat ware, but I hope those could be removed.
Is it me though, or did the UI look a lot like WM with all the blue.

I'm definately impressed by this phone. A bit surprised that it will supposedly release with Android 1.6, but I'm sure that can be upgraded relatively simply. The hardware specs on the phone look amazing. I will definately be looking for more info on this phone, especially when, price and which U.S. carrier will have this phone- I really hope its not T-Mobile (T-Mobile is not prevalent at all where I live.)

Who do you guys think will carry this phone?

I really want one of these devices. I certainly hope that it lands in the US right away in 2010. The only disappointing specs on the phone are Android 1.6 (NOT 2.0?!?!?!?!) and the lack of a flash for the camera. Other than that, it looks like a sick device. My only concern with it landing in the U.S. is that it will be sucked up by T-Mobile, and where I live, T-Mobile isn't existent. (Too bad Verizon or AT&T wont grab this one.)

Yeah it looks amazing. Then again it'll probably probably cost an arm and a leg, fall short of all this hype, and be delayed until sometime halfway through next year.

Sony Ericsson has a terrible habit of announcing awesome phones that never make it to the states... OR they make it to the states but they're not subsidized by any carrier... OR they're on some mediocre carrier like T-mobile.

Don't hold your breath :p
