Sony Google TV Playstore Auto-Update issues

Hi ,

I have Sony Google TV . Since few days I had issues with Netflix app . I decided to factory reset to resolve the issue. I rest to factory settings . My Netflix is working fine now. But I am not able to access YouTube APP because Factory version of YouTube App is no longer supported by Google. I tried to update YouTube APP. But it says "Error Downloading". Error is DF-DLA-15. I researched the error and as per suggestion (Mostly on android phones) I tried to Uninstall updates of Google play store app and clear data of Google play store app. But the problem is as soon as I uninstall updates , Google play store app is automatically updated again and it is being non sync with other apps and so not able to update any other google apps in TV .

Which means version of Google Play Store app is different from factory version of other google apps which is leading to failure of Google apps update.

I feel the solution is to stop Google Play store app automatically updated in my Sony google TV . Please help me to stop the auto update or Please suggest is there any way I can update YouTube APP. I feel TV is useless without YouTube APP working .

Have you tried the YouTube add-on for KODI?

I use that a lot and it's much more convenient than the stand-alone app.

I don't know how you would stop the automatic updates... and whether you would want to.
But this may help...
  1. Settings
  2. Go to Apps
  3. Find Google Play Store
  4. Clear the cache and press the 'Uninstall Updates' option
  5. Find Google Play Services and tap on it
  6. Press Manage Space and Tap Clear All Data
  7. Unplug the TV for a few seconds and see what happens...
You may be able to download the YouTube app now.
