Sony NSZ-GS7: Worthwhile device?

I don't know if I'm missing something, like a subforum, I couldn't find any threads on the new Sony NSZ-GS7.

Google News for NSZ-GS7

I've been wanting a Google TV, just haven't pulled the trigger because I'm looking for a not-expensive, brand-name, quality device. This new NSZ-GS7 seems to be it at $200. I'm hoping to get some opinions on the matter.

Some of my concerns are if there will be any Sony bloatware, and if the device is going to be locked down in any way.

I'm still not happy about being blocked by network streaming, are there any updates/improvements to this since I last looked 5 months ago?

I also considered picking up the first gen Sony NSZ-GT1, but I-can-not-believe that the price hasn't dropped on that. Walmart and Amazon are still selling it for $300. I'd LOVE to buy it for <$100.

These are second generation GoogleTV's, the GTV software is properly designed for use with remotes/TV's unlike the various Android set top boxes you see. These are brand new no-one has them yet. I would expect them to be locked down.

The box will be using the Marvell Armada 1500 chipset which is a Blu-ray compatible chipset with support for most common codecs though Sony could cripple playback for certain media types.

There are some third party media players for the GoogleTV like Plex and GTVBox so you should be able to access media others ways but I would wait for reviews before buying first.

I know, old thread... :D

I just bought a used NSZ-GS7 for $85 on Amazon with a $50 credit by applying for the Amazon credit card. Should be here tomorrow.

Really disappointed I'm not seeing much attention for the device tho.
