Help sorry noob here

hi everyone i have a question about rooting my g1. I love the phone but want to do much more and i have the r33 update but wanna root but dont know how i read the guide but want to know if i can just root now without having to go to a r30 and bumping up is this possible? any tips would be great

I think you have to have version RC19 - RC29. Those are the versions that had the bug that allow you to gain root access. But there are moded versions of the firmware that allow you to update to RC33 and keep root so it shouldn't be a problem...
