Sorting photos by date

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anybody can help.

My S3 was playing up recently so I decided to do a factory reset, before doing so I copied all pictures from my camera onto my laptop.

Now when I copy the pictures back to my phone, they appear in my gallery in a completely random order, however, when I sort them on my laptop by date they appear in the order I need them to, and in the order they appeared on my phone before I reset it.

I can sort by date if I go in through the 'my files' way, but if I simply go into my gallery they will be in a completely random order.

Does anybody know of any way I can sort my pictures so they are identical to the order they appear in on my laptop?

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks in advance.

Andy.

Hi Andy, I'm not sure of a way on the native S3 gallery app, but Quick pic would probably sort them by date.

Failing that, you might get a better response in the SGS3 forum. I can move this there for you for you if you like?

If you're using Jelly Bean click on the top left of the screen and choose "time" from the list which says "album". Or click "timeline view" button on the top right of the screen. Both methods in the stock Gallery program.

I also agree with you EL that Quick Pic is one of the best app for this purpose I also use this for my photos which I collect from different cameras.
